RUSSIAN RAILWAY PRESIDENT ARRIVING IN ARMENIA TODAY

November 3 Russian Railway Public Corporation President Gennady Fadeev will visit Armenia. As reported by Chief of the PR Department of the Corporation Constantin Pashkov, the visit program provides for working meetings with Armenian President Robert Kocharian, Prime Minister Andranik Margarian, heads of the Ministry of Transport and Communication and the Armenian Railway. It should be reminded that October 21 Gennady Fadeev met with Armenian Ambassador to Russia Armen Smbatian. During the talks the question of restoration of direct rail communication between Armenia and Russia via reestablishment of railway segments in Abkhazia was discussed. Armenia supported Russia’s proposal on resumption of the traffic. Thereupon the parties agreed that before territorial and political problems are solved in the region, the project can be realized by private companies.
