RUSSIA READY TO BECOME GUARANTOR OF COMPROMISE OVER KARABAKH SETTLEMENT

Russia recognizes the territorial integrity of all states of the former Soviet Union and is interested in the soonest possible settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Russian State Duma Security Committee member Gennady Guskov stated in an interview with Azertaj newspaper. “Being a Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group for settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Russia makes every effort for reaching a mutually acceptable compromise in the conflict settlement,” Gudkov said. In the parliamentarian’s opinion, as soon as the parties come to a compromise solution and the conflict is settled, the regional security will strengthen, Russia will have the opportunity to pursue a more active joint military policy, strengthen the political stability and became a guarantor of the peace.
