EURO MPs AND EU MEMBERS FOR FEDERALIZATION OF GEORGIA AND AZERBAIJAN

Euro Parliament and European Union members are for federalization of Georgia and Azerbaijan. It was spoken about at a Friedrich Ebert Fund measure in Germany November 11, in which representatives of the three South Caucasian countries also took part. As Co-Chair of the Social Democrat Party of Azerbaijan Araz Alizade reported at yesterday’s press conference, at the meeting it was stated that Georgia accepts that option and has prepared a respective bill of the federal treaty. It is already presented to South Ossetia and will be submitted to Abkhazian leader, as soon as a leader is determined there. Alizade considers that the federalization option is extremely dangerous and cannot be applied in Azerbaijan, which is a unitary state. The Social Democrat also reported that the participants have expressed their negative attitude towards a possible military conflict between the US and Iran.
This report blends with the common trend of activation of the European Union, the pursuit of its own political line in the South Caucasus.
