The work at the project of the new general plan of Yerevan begun in 2001 has been completed. After discussions and amendments it can be approved by 2006, Director of Yerevanproject company Gurgen Musheghian told journalists. The project is to be realized till year 2020. According to it, the traffic in the central streets will be relieved due to the construction of an expressway. It is also supposed to expand the green zones of the city: at the 256 hectares of the territory of the present Dalma gardens a park will be laid out. This will be the 5-th general plan of Yerevan. The previous one was intended for the period of 1972-2000.
