ARMENIAN DEFENSE MINISTER RECEIVED IRANIAN AMBASSADOR

Armenian Defense Minister Serge Sargsian today received Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Ali Reza Haqiqian. In the course of the meeting the parties referred to regional security issues, the Karabakh settlement, Sargsian’s coming visit to Teheran. Mr. Haqiqian expressed readiness to organize Persian language courses in the Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsian. The parties also discussed the building of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline, the construction of a new electric main. “During the latest official meeting new ideas for economic cooperation were born that specifically refer to the building of Iran-Armenia railway, importing oil products from Iran to Armenia,” the Ambassador noted. Serge Sargsian welcomed the development and noted that the implementation of those ideas is important to Armenia.
