ARMROSGAZPROM TO START BUILDING OF ARMENIAN PART OF IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE APRIL 1

Late March – April 1 ArmRosgazprom company will set about the building of the Meghri-Kajaran sector of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline, Company President Karen Karapetian stated during a press conference, IA Regnum reports. In his words, the general project has undergone considerable changes. Karapetian noted that the gas pipeline design does not provide for transit use. The “gas for kilowatt” formula will only satisfy the domestic needs of Armenia. When commenting on the Iran-Ukraine negotiations on the construction of Iran-Europe transcontinental gas pipeline Karen Karapetian noted that neither the Armenian party nor Russian Gazprom participate in them. At the same time “is Iran and Ukraine come to an agreement and Armenia is viewed as a transit country our company will do everything within the limits of the possible to take part in the project. We possess the ready basis, equipment and specialists”, head of the ArmRosgazprom said.
