ARMENIA READY TO JOIN FINANCING OF SAMTSKHE-JAVAKHETI ROADS REPAIR

Armenia is ready to take part in financing the repair of the roads in the Armenian-populated Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia, Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian stated during the press conference dedicated to the 5-th anniversary of the period of office. In his words, during three years already the Armenian budget provides funds for the works carried out in Georgia. In part, it includes financing of the Armenian Theater, newspapers, and repair of schools in Javakhetia. “We concluded an agreement with former Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania that Armenia will participate in financing the processes on the level with Georgia”, the Premier noted adding that Armenia has taken analogous position on Abkhazia and Ajaria. After the rose revolution Georgia has not established a social plan of the development of Javakhetia. But if such plan is fixed we are ready to contribute to its implementation. “Presently we are discussing a program which provides for the repair of the road from Bavra (Armenia) via Akhalkalaki and Akhaltsikh to Batumi”, Andranik Margarian stated, IA Regnum reports.
