«Talks between the Armenian party and Gazprom representatives continue and I hope that Russian gas tariffs will be reduced,» Armenian NA Speaker Artur Baghdassaryan stated at a news conference today. In his words, increase of gas tariffs will first of all hit domestic producers. «The gas price should be optimal for Armenia. I have always been against the increase. Any decision should be a compromise one and gas tariffs in the future should be regulated in compliance with the already tested scheme Property for Debt, which has justified itself,» the Speaker said.
At that he remarked that idle enterprises transferred to Russia should be run as soon as possible. «Both parties will benefit from it. It should be ensured that their produce is competitive,» Baghdassaryan remarked.
