Leo Platvoet, the PACE rapporteur on missing, who is in Azerbaijan at present, held a number of meetings in Milli Mejlis. Mr Platvoet has advanced several proposals that were not accepted by the Azeri parliamentarians. In order to carry out a detailed investigation Platvoet offered to cooperate with the NGOs of Nagorno Karabakh.
“We have stated that Nagorno Karabakh is a part of Azerbaijani territory and cooperation with any organization formed in Karabakh conflicts with Azerbaijan’s state policy. The suggestion that families of the missing can go to Nagorno Karabakh to search for their relatives was also rejected,” member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Gyulakin Hajiyeva said, reported APA Azeri news agency.
