Armenian Tombs among Those Destroyed by Vandals in Russian Kaluga Region

Almost 130 tombs were destroyed at a cemetery in Kremenki town of Zhukov district of Kaluga region on the night of Parental Saturday to Whitsunday. 15 crosses and a monument were thrown out on the highway. According to the Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia, Director of Ritual company Nikolay Babin remarked, “Graves of children, veterans, Jews and Armenians were crumbled up.” Suspects – two young men, 17 and 19 – are arrested. The attack on the cemetery will probably be qualified as drunk freak. The investigation continues. However, even a week after the occurrence Kremenki residents are still surprised – the amount of work done by the criminals is huge – they turned over large monuments.
