The resolution of ‘frozen conflicts’ and unsettled conflicts is one of the OSCE’s priorities, OSCE Chairman in Office, Belgian Foreign Minister Karel de Gucht said at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. For his part the NATO Sec. Gen. remarked that there is no organization that can achieve its aims alone and coordination of efforts should be a priority. Karel de Gucht’s visit to the NATO was a part of regional political dialogue at the highest level between the two organizations. Last year NATO Secretary General addressed the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna. The NATO and OSCE are closely cooperating in several regions including the Balkans, the NATO statement says.
