European Union Foreign Ministers adopted an agreement to postpone Turkey’s EU bid since Ankara refuses to recognize the government in Cyprus. According to the statement from Brussels, the ministers reached an agreement in definition of 8 subjects, where the negotiations will be frozen.
The decision was adopted in connection with Turkey’s unwillingness to accept Cypriot ships and planes in its ports and airports. A number of countries offered tough measures for Turkey, which does not recognize Cyprus. But there are no ultimatums or utmost deadlines in the final document, till when decisions must be adopted, BBC reports.
