The other day MDR German TV Channel broadcast a film titled ‘Die Baku Story‘ which subjects Azerbaijan to sharp criticism. The film censures corruption, poverty, despotism of police and terrifying ecological situation in the oilfields. Azerbaijan is represented as a retrograde state with corrupted officials.
The film shows how reporters were arrested when coveting the rally of civilians against an oil pipeline. The protesters complained that they were deprived of lands and that the documents proving their consent to the building were forged by local officials. Journalists also managed to shoot a conversation in a police station, reports Day.az.
