“U.S. Do Not Consider Events of 1915 as Genocide,” Claims American Diplomat

The discussion of the Armenian Genocide issue in the Congress will not result in significant changes of the situation, said U.S. Embassy Public Relations Officer Jonathan Henick in Baku. In his words, the U.S. stance in the given issue remains unchangeable. “The United States has never recognized and will never recognize the events in 1915 as Armenian Genocide,” he said. The diplomat thinks that this issue must be approved in the Senate. According to U.S. law, the President does not have right to place a “hold” on the bills, APA reports.
