The Armenian politologist precludes a new war in Georgia

Georgian MFA statement on establishment of strategic ties with Armenia is conditioned by internal political problems of Georgia, Caucasus Institute director, politologist Alexander Iskandaryan told a news conference in Yerevan.
“Georgian opposition has planned a serious rally on Apr. 9. Still, revolution and change of power are highly unlikely. Opposition does not have sufficient resources to introduce such changes in the country,” the politologist noted. “Illegitimate and weak though Saakashvili’s regime is, Georgian opposition is not strong enough to overthrow him.”

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze stated that Georgia and Armenia will establish strategic ties in nearest future. According to Georgian FM, Georgian -Armenian ties will become an important part in foreign policy of the country.
