COOPERATION WITH INTERNATIONAL GROUP ON PRISONERS OF WAR AND HOSTAGES WILL PROMOTE CONFIDENCE BUILDING BETWEEN KARABAKH CONFLICT PARTIES

Close cooperation with the International Working Group on search for the missing, hostages and prisoners of war in the zone of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict with corresponding commissions of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh will allow to increase the efficiency of the search and contribute to confidence building between the parties to conflict. Nagorno Karabakh Republic foreign minister Ashot Gulian stated during a meeting with the International Working Group chairman Paata Zakareishvili and co-chair Bernhard Klasen being in Stepanakert. Thereupon, the minister underscored that politicization of humanitarian issues and laying down preconditions by Azerbaijan was inadmissible. In his opinion, it makes interaction of the commissions extremely difficult. In the course of the conversation issues of practical solution of available problems, efficient exchange of information and establishment of confidence between corresponding structures were touched on.
