Letter of the Chairman of Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe (FAAE) Ashot Grigoryan addressed to U.S. Congress received positive feedback. "Examining the letters addressed to FAAE, we can come to the conclusion that the March 4 discussion of Armenian Genocide resolution 252 at U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs would have positive results, and the U.S. House of Representatives will recognizes the Genocide," the statement said.
According FAAE, the measures taken by Turkey to prevent the resolution adoption would fail.
"In his reply to FAAE North Carolina Senator Kay Hagen assured that she would submit the letter at the discussion of the resolution in Senate. In turn, the senator from California Barbara Boxer wrote that she had always worked towards the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the U.S. Congress, as well as the adoption of resolution 316 which calls upon the President to recognize the Armenian Genocide as historical fact, " the statement said.
Similar responses were received from Senators Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, Al Franken of Minnesota, John Kornin, Lindsey Graham.
FFAE intends to re-send the letter, signed by prominent Armenians of Europe, to the U.S. president calling him to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
