The President of Azerbaijan will be invited to the United States soon.
According to the Sabah Turkish newspaper, the pressure the Turkish delegation exerted on the U.S. for not inviting Azerbaijan to the Nuclear Security Summit produced results and Ilham Aliyev will be invited to the White House after a while.
“Straight after the visit of Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan’s special representative Feridun Sinirlioglu to Baku, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton had a phone discussion on possible invitation of Aliyev to Washington,” the newspaper reported.
