Leader of Democratic Party of Azerbaijan invites his Armenian colleague to meet in neutral place

Leader of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan Sardar Jalaloglu said that his offer to meet with the leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia remains in force.

“In my opinion, the three Caucasian republics should develop a common model of internal and foreign policy, as well as economic development. If Armenia is not indifferent to our region, it should sit down at the negotiation table to discuss problems in the South Caucasus,” said Jalaloglu, adding that all disputable problems can be solved through negotiations.

“Thus, I invite my Armenian colleague to meet in any neutral place to discuss the current situation in the region and to contribute to establishment of peace and democracy in our countries,” he said.

Jalaloglu added that the distrust between the countries can be overcome, if third parties refrain from interfering in affairs of the South Caucasus.

“Armenia and Azerbaijan should shoulder a mutual obligation that they will not use third countries against each other. It refers to the Russian base in Armenia and Azerbaijan’s military cooperation with Turkey. Armenia and Azerbaijan should not involve third countries in the solution of our problems. Besides, the three countries of Caucasus should declare their neutrality and refrain from joining any military blocs. If we manage to agree on this, our region will become a prosperous, democratic and developed one. I think that confidence will be rehabilitated after it. We should overcome all obstacles to establish peace in Caucasus,” 1news.az quoted Jalaloglu as saying.
