On November 25, during his visit to Syria, Armenian parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamyan met with the grand Mufti of Syria, Sheikh Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun in Aleppo.
At the meeting, the grand Mufti stressed the importance of Armenian community in the development of Syria. He gave high assessment to the efforts undertaken by Armenia towards establishment of peace in the region
Abrahamyan, in turn, characterized Syria’s Armenian community as the bridge between the two nations, parliamentary press service reported.
