Herbert Zalber, Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre, does not expect the solution to Karabakh conflict to be found at OSCE summit in Astana.
“However, the summit will give additional impetus to resolution of the conflict. It is a chance to discuss the issue, thus, promoting its settlement.”
“We need to be realistic here. This is a deep-rooted conflict. Although we cannot expect for the conflict to be resolved, still, it is possible to expect the atmosphere of improvement.”
“Eventually, conflicting parties are to be the ones to make a decision: the OSCE, Minsk group, the Presidents or Ministers for Foreign Affairs can merely contribute to this process,” Kazakhstan Today cited Zalber as saying.
