On the initiative of the Swedish MPs Annelie Enochson (Christian Democrat) and Esabelle Dingizian (Green), the Swedish-Armenian friendship group was formed in the Swedish Riksdag, reported the Union of Armenian Associations in Sweden
The interparliamentary group consists of members of all Riksdag parties and has the goal to promote cooperation between the Armenian and Swedish parliaments as well as the cooperation between two countries.
Armenian Ambassador Ara Aivazian, who also attended the meeting convened on the occasion, welcomed formation of the group and emphasized the importance of its activity. Spokesman for the Union of Armenian Association in Sweden Vahagn Avedian briefed on the situation in Armenia, its challenges and resources.
The Union will participate in the work of the group as a co-opted member.
