On January 15, President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan visited Mardakert region.
In the villages of Nor Aygestan, Nor Seisoulan, Hovtashen, Kichan and Nor Ghazanchi Mr. Sahakyan met with representatives of the communities to discuss problems faced by the settlements.
Later the same day, Sahakyan held a working consultation with heads of all communities of Mardakert region in the village of Vank.
Socioeconomic development of the region was in the focus of the consultation.
According to the President, Mardakert region is among the most war-devastated regions of the country.
Mr. Sahakyan underlined that the development of the region is in the spotlight of the republic, simultaneously stressing that it is important to organize works properly on site to gain the planned result, while the communities should play a significant role in this process.
The President gave certain assignments to heads of appropriate structures for proper implementation of the projects carried out in the region.
NKR Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan and other officials accompanied the President during the visit, the Central Information Department at the Artsakh President's Office reported.
