Rubio says U.S. seeks stronger Armenia partnership

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, congratulating the Armenian people on Independence Day.

He said the U.S. expects to deepen its partnership with Armenia in the coming years.

“On behalf of the United States of America, I warmly congratulate the people of Armenia on the occasion of Independence Day.

The United States shares Armenia’s joy as you celebrate the 35th anniversary of the restoration of independence and recognize your country’s progress toward a more peaceful, prosperous and democratic future. The historic progress we have achieved together over the past year demonstrates what is possible when we act with a shared vision of peace and prosperity. We look forward to advancing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative, strengthening economic connectivity, encouraging American investment and helping unlock new opportunities for Armenia and the broader region.

In the years ahead, we look forward to deepening the partnership between our two countries. I congratulate the people of Armenia on this important national holiday,” the message said.
