Armenian gymnast Mamikon Khachatryan has named the 2027 European Championships in Yerevan as his next major goal after winning bronze at the World Championships in Rotterdam, Armenpress reports.
Khachatryan said competing for medals alongside teammate Hamlet Manukyan and seeing the Armenian flag raised at the World Championships had been an emotional experience.
“Naturally, there was a lot of pressure in the final, and even the slightest mistake could have cost us a medal. We focused on performing our routines well. Our next goal is the European Gymnastics Championships in Yerevan, where I want us to make the most of our strengths and bring joy to our nation,” he said.
Armenia finished the World Championships with four apparatus medals. Artur Davtyan won gold in the vault and Hamlet Manukyan on the pommel horse, while Artur Avetisyan took bronze on the still rings and Khachatryan on the pommel horse.
