A letter issued by Armenia’s permanent representative to the UN, Karen Nazaryan, and addressed to the organization’s Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemns Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian propaganda and attempts to mislead the international community.
“In response to the legal demand of the Nagorno Karabakh people, Azerbaijan unleashed large-scale military operations and ethnic cleansing… The reports issued by the international human rights organizations evidence that the Sumgait pogroms in 1988 aimed to terrify the Armenian population of Azerbaijan,” Nazaryan wrote.
He underlined that today’s leadership of Azerbaijan doesn’t stop threatening war.
“Ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side become more frequent, what hampers peaceful talks for resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.”
