U.S. diplomat suggests establishment of peace in Caucasus using Turkish methods

Carey Cavanaugh, former OSCE MG co-chair (U.S.) ascribed failure to settle Karabakh conflict to Armenia's “unreadiness to compromise.”

As he stated at Bursa-hosted conference titled “Safety in South Caucasus: Azerbaijani-Turkish Relations”, due to its partnership with Azerbaijan, Turkey can play an important role in the resolution of problems in Caucasus.

According to Mr. Cavanaugh, the USD 3,5 billion worth military budget of Azerbaijan could be directed to peaceful purposes, Zaman reported.
