Novruz Mammadov, the head of the international relations department at the Azerbaijani President’s Administration, said Azerbaijan hails and supports the joint statement adopted in Deauville by the U.S., Russian and French Presidents.
“Concerns expressed by Obama, Medvedev and Sarkozy with respect to the unresolved Karabakh conflict are quite explainable. The Presidents stressed the necessity of soonest settlement of the conflict, with what we are pleased,” Mammadov said.
According to him, the world community’s stance indicates that the status-quo cannot be maintained and its change is important, 1news.az reported.
