Bryza says no military solution to Karabakh conflict possible

U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza shares President Barack Obama’s hopes for achievement of an agreement on basic principles for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement during a meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Kazan.

Commenting on the upcoming Sargsyan-Aliyev talks, the ambassador said that President Obama mentioned in Deauville statement about the results he expects from the meeting.

“The statement says that there is no alternative to peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and calls upon Presidents Aliyev and Sargsyan to use this period in Kazan meeting to reach agreement on basic principles. Of course, I share that hope and am deeply convinced that there is no military solution to the conflict,” APA quoted Bryza as saying.
