TALKS ON PLACING ARMENIAN MILITARY SPECIALISTS IN IRAQ CLOSE TO COMPLETION

Talks on placing Armenian sappers and medical officers in Iraq will finish within the next few days, a high-rank source in the Armenian foreign ministry told “Mediamax” agency. According to it, organizational issues are being specified at the talks to be followed by the signing of a corresponding agreement. It should be reminded that already in this August Armenia expressed readiness to send sappers and medical officers to Iraq to participate in the post-war rehabilitation. In October US ambassador to Armenia John Ordway reported the US Central Command and the military department of Armenia were holding negotiations on including Armenian military specialists in the peacekeeping contingent in Iraq.
