FINAL DOCUMENTS FOR CONVEYING HRAZDAN THERMOELECTRIC POWER PLANT TO RUSSIA UNDER PREPARATION

Today a group of Russian specialists representing ministries of energy and property relations of Russia, as well as “United Energy Systems (UES) of Russia” Stock Company will arrive in Armenia. As the press service of the ministry of energy of Armenia told “Arminfo” agency, the visit aims at preparation of final documents on conveying the package of shares of “Hrazdan Thermoelectric Power Plant” CJSC to ownership of Russia to pay off the debt of Armenia to that country. In the future, the plant is expected to be passed to International Energy Corporation, which is part of “UES of Russia” and now runs the Sevan-Hrazdan cascade. At that a representative of the ministry of energy of Armenia found it difficult to tell the official terms of conveying the Hrazdan plant to the Russian party. It should be noted that assessed value of the Hrazdan thermoelectric power plant, which accounts for 20% of the electric energy being generated in Armenia, is $31 million.
