PILOT FAULT MAY HAVE CAUSED RUSSIAN PURSUIT PLANE CATASTROPHE IN ARMENIA

Pilot’s fault may have caused the catastrophe of MiG-29 Russian pursuit plane in Armenia, a source in the service of flight safety of the Russian Armed Forces told “Interfax” agency. In compliance with the information provided, “the most probable cause of the plane catastrophe is a fault in piloting the plane.” According to it, pilot major Constantine Kardash was executing a training flight in the mountains under hard meteorological conditions – low cloudiness and precipitation in the form of snow. “Flights in mountains are recommended to be executed only if the weather is fine,” said a representative of the service of flight safety. In his words, “in case the meteorological situation worsens, the pilot has to report it to the flight dispatcher and cease fulfilling the flight task in the mountains upon his order.”
