In the current situation of “neither peace, nor war” around the Nagorno Karabakh, contacts between presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan should feature in the conflict settlement, Russian Security Council secretary Vladimir Rushaylo told journalists today. In his words, Russia works for promoting the solution of the Karabakh problem both within the bilateral and the OSCE Minsk Group frameworks. However, Moscow is not going to put pressure upon the heads of the two countries and impose a solution of the conflict to the parties, Rushaylo accentuated. He also noted that new Azeri president Ilham Aliyev needs some time to perceive and realize the situation at the presidential level, and then make some actual proposals. “As of the stand of the Armenian party, Russia is well aware of it,” the head of the Security Council of Russia said.
