We hope that after Ilyam Aliyev’s winning the election in Azerbaijan, succession will be preserved in the negotiation process over Nagorno Karabakh, press secretary of the foreign ministry of Armenia Hamlet Gasparian told “Interfax” agency today. In his words, official Yerevan considered the victory of I. Aliyev desirable taking into account that he will provide for continuity of the negotiation process and will leave in force the agreements arranged with his father – incumbent president of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. “It will soon become known whether Ilham Aliyev will preserve the succession of the talks,” the spokesman noted.
