VARDAN OSKANIAN REFUTED ILHAM ALIYEV’S ACCUSATIONS CONCERNING ARMENIA

Addressing the 58-th session of the UN General Assembly Armenian FM Vardan Oskanian passed strictures upon Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. Yesterday he commented on Azeri prime minister Ilham Aliyev’s statements about “the Azeri territories occupied by Armenia”, which were made from the same rostrum a day earlier, and as well criticized Azerbaijan’s unwillingness to settle the issue within the possibilities available. In Oskanian’s words, I. Aliyev’s speech demonstrated Azerbaijan’s attempts to “ignore evident realias” at the threshold of the election. “Let Azeri prime minister like or dislike the fact, but two years ago in Key West Armenian and Azeri leaders under the supervision of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairmen had almost come to the agreement reflecting these realias”, – V. Oskanian said.
