Armenian-Russian joint exercise taking place in the Armavir training ground named after marshal Baghramian is approaching completion. Today Armenian president Robert Kocharian, prime minister Andranik Markarian and defense minister Serge Sargsian watched the closing phase of the maneuvers. The soldiers of the 30-rd corps of the Armenian Armed Forces as well as those of the 102-th Russian military base dislocated in Armenian city of Gyumri take part in the exercise September 8-12. The objective of the maneuvers is to give the work-out to coherence of the operations and improve the efficiency of the troops.
