The representatives of the Kurdish community continue the hunger-strike supporting Kurdistan Workers Party leader (PKK) Abdullah Ojalan. As Caucasian PKK representative office member Denis Baran told Arminfo agency, the action with the participation of 25 people, women among them too, is to last till September 5. “One of our claims is to send a group of international specialists to the island of Imrali, Sea of Marmara, where Ojalan is being kept, to provide truthful information regarding his state of health”, – Baran stated. The hunger-strikers also claim to put a stop to the violence exercised by the Turkish authorities towards the Iraqi Kurds. ” We are ready to stand up for ourselves and undertake the same measures that are being applied towards us. Our guerrillas are ready to take any steps”, – D. Baran emphasized. It should be noted that Kurds all over the world intend to hold actions of such kind with the claims mentioned above in the course of the coming several months.
