GEORGIAN CITIZENS AGAINST BAKU-TBILISI-ERZERUM PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION

Today the residents of the village of Krtsanisi of the Gardabani region of Georgia organized a protest action in front of the building of the Georgian State Office. As reported by Rosbalt agency, they speak against the construction of the export oil pipeline through the territory of the village where the building of Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum gas pipeline is planned. They consider that the presence of oil and gas pipelines in the region would constitute danger for ecology and threaten health of the residents of the region. The action participants emphasize that the oil and gas pipelines should not stretch nearby any inhabited localities.
