Until February the International Energy Corporation (IEC), making part of the UES of Russia stock company, will not increase the cost of the electric power supplied from Armenia to Georgia. In the words of IEC director general Mikhail Mantrov, Novosti Russian agency reported, the step is made taking into account the difficult situation of the Georgian energy system. It should be reminded that the Natural Monopolies Regulatory Commission has passed a decision to increase the tariff for the service of conveying the energy exported beginning in January 21, which had the respective effect upon the cost of the electric power being exported by the IEC, increasing it 30%. It should be reminded that at present the contract price for electric energy supplies to Georgia makes 2.54 cents for 1kwh. The current volume of electric power being supplied from Armenia to Georgia via Alaverdi power transmission line makes 60 Mw.
