HOLOCAUST WELL-KNOWN EXPERT TO VISIT YEREVAN TO PARTICIPATE IN CONFERENCE ON 90-TH ANNIVERSARY OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN OTTOMAN TURKEY

Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian, being in Stockholm to participate in an international forum on genocide, has invited expert for holocaust issues, Nobel premium laureate, director of Yad Vashem Jerusalem Institute, professor Yehuda Bauer to participate in a conference devoted to the 90-th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey, scheduled to be held in Yerevan in April 2005. The professor accepted the invitation with gratitude, promising to visit Armenia without fail. As reported by the press service of the government of Armenia, Andranik Margarian told journalists at a briefing in the Swedish capital that efforts to prevent genocide will not be ceased upon the completion of the Stockholm forum and each country, which participated in the conference, should be guided and bring into life approaches presented at it. At that one should remember that it is necessary to recognize genocides in order to prevent them, he added. “Armenia wishes what the Armenian people experienced in early 20-th century never to repeat anywhere,” A. Margarian said.
