ILHAM ALIYEV: WE WOULD LIKE NOT TO RIVAL BUT TO COOPERATE WITH ARMENIA

The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan cannot be subject of bargain, negotiations and talks, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Izvestiya Russian newspaper. We should regain our territories seized by Armenian forces and peacefully settle the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, he said. In Aliyev’s words, for that purpose there are universally recognized norms of the international law and they should have effect. “There should not be double standards. There should not be dependence from the political situation,” he stated. At that I. Aliyev hoped for the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group for the Karabakh settlement to help to return Azeri lands. “We would like not to rival but to cooperate with Armenia,” the Azeri leader said.
