February 21 the political forces, represented in the National Assembly of Armenia, will discuss cooperation opportunities between the ruling coalition and opposition on the issue of Nagorno Karabakh. The decision was passed in the course of consultations held on the initiative of Speaker Artur Baghdasarian yesterday. As Viktor Dallakian, secretary of the parliamentary faction of Justice opposition bloc, told journalists, the coming discussions are very important in the light of the February 23 visit of PACE rapporteur on Nagorno Karabakh Terry Davis to the region. In his words, in the course of consultations representatives of all parliamentary forces reached consensus in the issue of peaceful settlement of the Karabakh problem and confirmed their adherence to the statement over Nagorno Karabakh they made earlier. It should be reminded that the 2001 statement supported three main principles of official Yerevan in the Karabakh settlement: non-admission of an enclave position of Nagorno Karabakh, providing security guarantees for its people and ruling out subordination of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to Azerbaijan.
