BAKU REGRETS FOR MURDER OF ARMENIAN OFFICER BY AZERI SOLDIER IN BUDAPEST

Azerbaijani MFA delivered a statement of regret for the murder of the Armenian officer in Budapest and offered condolences to the colleagues and relatives of the killed. “Azeri soldier Ramil Safarov, arrested on suspicion of the murder, is a member of a family of refugees from Dzhabrail region seized by the Armenian party in 1993”, the statement runs. According to “some data” possessed by the Azeri MFA “the Armenian officer has many times used expressions insulting honor and dignity of a Azerbaijani citizen and officer as well as the memory of victims of the Armenian aggression”. All this, in his words, could influence the psychical condition of Ramil Safarov. At the same time, the Azeri side called to Armenia to refrain from accusatory statements and remarks addressed to Azerbaijan and its people. “We should not let the Budapest incident catalyze the tensed relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It once again proves the necessity of activation of international community in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict on the basis of jus gentium”, the Azeri MFA statement notes.
