Official Baku is providing juridical backing to Azeri officer Ramil Safarov in Budapest, as reported by Daily.az Baku agency, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev told journalists. In his words, the Azeri MFA has been given a corresponding guideline and Azerbaijan’s Consul in Hungary was sent to Budapest. I. Aliyev said that only the investigation will show whether R. Safarov is really guilty of the murder of the Armenian officer. The President considers that the Budapest “incident” could be viewed as everyday occurrence and “events of the kind took place at the contact line of the Azeri and Armenian troops many times”. To remind, February 19 R. Safarov was detained and charged of homicide of Armenian Armed Forces officer Gurgen Margarian in Budapest.
