AZERI KARABAKH LIBERATORS’ MARCH TO SHUSHU FAILED

The initiative of the Azeri Organization for Karabakh Liberation to launch a campaign of its supporters to Nagorno Karabakh town of Shushi was not crowned with success. After the rally organized May 9 on the Shahid Avenue in Baku, the action participants with cries “Karabakh or Death” tried to make their way to Shushi. However Baku policemen suppressed the attempt alleging the fact that the rally was unauthorized and that it was pregnant with undesirable consequences. Nevertheless some of the demonstrators started for the Azeri settlement of Barda located near the contact line with the Nagorno Karabakh forces, where they were stopped by the Azeri frontier guards. The rally participants declared about their intention “to liberate” Nagorno Karabakh and went home.
