«The US will announce its new initiatives aimed at promotion of free and fair election parliamentary and presidential election in Armenia in 2007 and 2008,» stated US Ambassador to Armenia John Evans. In his words, these matters will be discussed in the course of the US-Armenia Economic Task Force (USATF) session. «We are going to discuss Armenia’s latest democratic achievements, as we believe these changes have a direct impact on economic growth,» J. Evans said. «The session will discuss economic policy and long-turn economic growth matters,» he noted. Armenian and US representatives will discuss fight against terror and border security at the USATF session as well. «We are convinced the terrorism issue can be solved only owing to our joint efforts with our friends and allies worldwide. Globalization means that people, money and, unfortunately, drugs circulate throughout the globe. Our main goal is to make sure that substances that may be used to produce mass annihilation weapons cannot illegally cross borders,» J. Evans stated, reported Mediamax.
