Armenian Speaker Artur Baghdassaryan has sent a message of gratitude to Lithuanian Seimas Chairman Arturas Pauluskas and Lithuanian MPs for adoption of a resolution acknowledging and condemning the Armenian Genocide, reported the Press Service of the Armenian Parliament. The message specifically says, “Acknowledgement and international community’s strict censure is best guarantee of non-repetition of a genocide, the
hardest crime against humanity.”
It should be reminded that December 15 by a majority vote the Lithuanian Seimas passed a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915. Lithuanian MPs qualified in the resolution the massacre of Armenian people as a genocide and urge Turkish authorities to recognize that historical fact.
