ARMENIAN PRESIDENT CALLED ARMENIAN DIASPORA TO COMBINE EFFORTS FOR FATHERLAND PROSPERITY

More Armenians live outside Armenia than in Armenia itself, and that potential should work for strengthening the state, Armenian president Robert Kocharian said when addressing the first congress of the World Armenian Organization in Moscow today. “Armenia is not rich with resources and is in a hard region. We will succeed if we are interested in preserving the diaspora,” – he said. In R. Kocharian’s words, it is hard to consolidate diaspora dispersed all around the world, thus one should find rational cooperation forms within the diaspora itself. “The combination of efforts of the diaspora should work for the prosperity of Armenia,” he emphasized. In the president’s words, the Armenian diaspora of Russia is the largest and is a firm bridge in friendship between Russia and Armenia.
