ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER CONSIDERS NATURAL KARABAKH ISSUE PRIORITY DURING DISCUSSIONS ILHAM ALIYEV WILL HAVE IN PARIS

Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian considers it natural that the Karabakh issue will be the main topic discussed at the meetings Ilham Aliyev will hold in Paris. France and personally President Jacques Chirac have played an important role, specifically in the Paris and the following Key West processes over the Karabakh settlement, and we are to a certain degree pleased that the issue will again be discussed by the French leadership, V. Oskanian noted. At that he reminded that it was Jacques Chirac, who initiated the Paris meeting of Heydar Aliyev and Robert Kocharian, being present at it himself. It is not ruled out for Ilham Aliyev to be informed and the principles negotiated at the time to be confirmed, V. Oskanian told Liberty radio station. At that the head of the foreign ministry of Armenia noted, “if the new president of Azerbaijan makes serious changes in the talks over Nagorno Karabakh, the Azeri party will carry responsibility for the possible failure.” It should be reminded that, as reported by Azeri sources, Karabakh conflict settlement will be one of the main topics to be discussed within the framework of Ilham Aliyev’s visit to France January 22-23.
