RUSSIAN EMBASSY IN ARMENIA DENIES NEZAVISIMAYA GAZETA INFORMATION

Russian Embassy in Armenia has denied data published in the article “Time Trouble in the Armenian Parliament” printed in Nezavisimaya Gazeta Moscow newspaper February 13. According to the article, Rosbalt agency reported, in Moscow Armenian Defense Minister Serge Sargsian was trying to get guarantees of support of the 102-nd Russian military base located in Armenia in case exacerbation of the domestic situation. As of the appearance of reprinting of the aforementioned article, the Russian Embassy in Armenia stated, the information was false. The Embassy reminded that in compliance with a bilateral agreement, the Russian military base does not interfere with internal affairs of Armenia. The replication of materials being the figment of authors is of evident provocative nature and is directed at undermining the Russian-Armenian cooperation, the statement by the Russian Embassy says.
